For art lovers and the community!

We are thrilled to announce a cultural renaissance in Old Town Kern, spearheaded by The HUB of Bakersfield. Imagine - The inaugural OTK Street Art Festival marks the beginning of an annual celebration aimed at transforming our neighborhood into a vibrant Arts District, adorned with public artworks spanning Old Town Kern and neighboring historic downtown Bakersfield.

Supported by the generous funding of the Virginia and Alfred Harrell Foundation, this festival will feature three captivating murals by hand-selected artists, complemented by five mini-murals chosen through a meticulous selection process. These artists will not only beautify our streets but also mentor emerging talents through workshops and engage the public in enriching discussions about public art.

The heart of our festival will be a vibrant street fair on Baker Street, stretching from East 19th to Sumner, set for March 28, 2026. This dynamic daytime event will bring our community together in a celebration of creativity, culture, and heritage. Attendees can immerse themselves in live music, DJ performances, and captivating live art displays. The streets will come alive with a variety of food booths, artisanal vendors, and art installations. Families and children will also enjoy interactive activities designed to inspire and entertain.
