HISTORY OF DINE AND DISCOVER

Dine and Discover week has been meticulously organized by a dedicated team from The Hub of Bakersfield Innovation Lab, including Brittni Brewer, Vicheka Ek, and Daryl Dean B. Santos. Their joint efforts and shared love of food brought a “90 Day Goal” from concept to fruition and backs the mission of The Innovation Lab, encouraging community members to be a part of the change and progress they would like to see by bringing innovative ideas to life.

"We aim to illuminate the hidden culinary gems within our rapidly evolving local food scene," said Brittni Brewer, a real estate agent and one of the seven graduates of the 2023 Innovation Lab. "Each restaurant week menu offers a unique glimpse into the creative vision and distinct flavors of each participating establishment."

The three founding Dine and Discover innovators are prominent members of the community and are advocates for creating big wins for the community at large. The Innovation Lab's mission extends beyond creating engaging experiences. Participants undergo a 5-month program where they build relationships with passionate changemakers, interact with city stakeholders and work in team environments to enhance Bakersfield's urban core, aiming to make the downtown area an increasingly attractive place to live, work, and thrive.
