Who we are: We create inspirational conditions for leaders to become innovators by tangibly growing the downtown core of Bakersfield. Participants in this annual program will work together in a team environment to actively contribute to making the greater downtown Bakersfield area a more desirable place to live, work and be.
What you’ll do: Participants will meet and interview city stakeholders and active innovators, discuss projects and ideas, and potentially execute them for the betterment of our community. Participants will also visit places that are “doing it right” or “doing it better.”
Who the Innovation Lab needs: Someone who is mature, forward-thinking, positive and responsible, enjoys making new friends as well as professional connections, enjoys learning about what makes things work the way they do, is new to Bakersfield or has called Bakersfield home for years, and wants to improve the way of life for yourself, your friends, family, and others.
What’s your commitment: Meet with your fellow Bakersfield Innovators every Monday, for six weeks. Instruction to begin Monday, February 24th with a Graduation event as closing.
Cost: $500 (or give-get). Cost will cover class materials, meals, and life-enhancing experiences. Payment (or arrangements) is due before the start of the program. Scholarship opportunities may be available.
